We were very proud to receive the Tourism and Visitor Experience award at the annual Ballina Shire Business Excellence Awards for 2019 last night.
This is an annual celebration for the business community who conduct business in the Ballina Shire, Northern NSW.
Fozies Fishing Adventures has enjoyed the company of over 700 clients in the past 12 months through 160 charters. A large percentage of our clients come from the larger capital cities down south including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Brisbane and the Gold Coast are starting to show some interest and we look forward to seeing more clients from these areas in the future.
The number of International clients we have seen in the last 12 months is incredible. To think that a small tourism company like ours can attract such esteem visitors to our shores shows we must have a good product to offer and inspires us to improve further. We have visitors from South Africa, Zimbabwe, England, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, USA, Fiji and New Zealand. To have people from all over the globe come to us for their tourism experience whilst visiting Australia is awesome.
Fozies Fishing Adventures has expanded our fishing adventures to the fantastic reef system off Byron Bay all the way down to the expanse of reef off Broadwater in the south. Fishing along what we call the 32 Fathom line is fishing well for all local species of fish including Snapper, Teraglin, Venus tusk fish, Goat fish, Pig fish, Mulloway, Pearl Perch, Flathead, Job fish and Maori cod. Recently we had a patch of Cobia on the northern reef and caught some beauties but none as good as the fish caught by Paul Hunter from Brisbane. The Cobia took 75 minutes to land and weighed an impressive 40kg. The video of this awesome fish capture is available on my You Tube channel Fozies Fishing Adventures.
A big thank you to the Ballina Chamber of commerce for giving the Tourism and Visitor Experience award for 2019 to Fozies Fishing Adventures.
